Comment 4 Peter Jones 2007-10-01 12:38:42 EDT Toni, can you move the files in the initrd in /lib/firmware to /firmware, reassemble the firmware, and try that? I can't test the alpha at this time to verify it still fails (as I enjoy a relatively stable system), but it's failed in certainly the last 2-3 ubuntu releases, and udev needs to load before Loading essential drivers. Example: my Adaptec 2940 has detailled infos about the controller and device status in:cat /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/2If you have such a file (the number could differ on your machine) please post it also.Maybe http://twaproductions.com/failed-to/failed-to-load-the-boot-file.html Comment 2 WolfgangS 2007-09-07 13:35:43 EDT Exchanging the "insmod aic94xx" in the init nash script with "modprobe aic94xx" allows loading of the firmware during boot.
When Lucid is GA, I'll test it and update this bug with some verification.
