Sorry, I didn't realize those calls just invoked those scripts. Failed To Start Samba Netbios Name Server Problem: Code: [email protected]:~# /etc/init.d/smb start -su: /etc/init.d/smb: No such file or directory Info: This is so I can mount files from my Nx Nomachine server on my local/client computer. I then went to the module configuration and changed the start command to: service smbd start and the same for the stop command (with "stop" though). Now, restarting Samba from within Webmin produces the following error: "Failed to restart Samba servers : /etc/init.d/samba start || (/etc/init.d/nmbd start ; /etc/init.d/smbd start) failed" In an Ubuntu based distro (LinuxMint http://twaproductions.com/failed-to/rsync-failed-to-set-times-on-samba-share.html How do you make Fermat's primality test go fast? Are you new to LinuxQuestions.org? Then I checked step by step, I found out because my old smb.conf backup file has such lines ( security = share username map = /etc/samba/smbusers) to cause the error, seems Failed To Start Samba Smb Daemon Centos 7
As before, I have edited the relevant lines at /etc/webmin/samba/config After such edit, it works as expected "restart_cmd=service smbd restart" also "start_cmd=service smbd start" although there is no "start" button in Execstart=/usr/sbin/smbd $smbdoptions (code=exited, Status=1/failure) Will installing the next version overwrite the changes I made at /etc/webmin/samba or will I need to revert them myself?
